Experimental Book Design

This is the deconstructed work of the novel Silver Linings Playbook created as part of the master’s program in Communication Design.

Running throughout the novel are a number of themes. The visual story in this book explores through type, color, and images the relationship and story in a new visual narrative that is different than the writing alone.

The entire original work is here, with the graphical exploration meant to bring a new perspective to the story, creating new parallels that don’t exist in literature. Visually this was deconstructed into what I felt were the strongest major themes. Each theme was assigned its own visual cues so that the story, relationships, emotions and consequences are conveyed to the reader by the images that are on the corresponding pages.
