It’s my seven year anniversary at work and I’ve been reflecting on some of the changes over the years. There’s a mug that I love that says, this meeting could have been an email. It always reminds me to prioritize time and to consider what is worth yours. There’s something about motion graphics that I think are always worth the time to create. Sure, it could have been a single static image projected onto that screen/wall/you name your surface. It works. It does the job. But it could be so much more taking up that same space. If you’re still using stills, I offer this advice: Start integrating motion design into your work. Combining graphic design, animation, and storytelling you can convey messages in a more dynamic and engaging way, breaking down complicated concepts into visually digestible and easy-to-understand formats. And with our super short attention span, we know that movement naturally draws the eye, grabs and holds your attention, and can do so especially in crowded digital spaces. Add video and music, and you might just hold someone’s attention longer than a tik tok.
